1. Who we are
Soonly ("Soonly", "we", "us", or "the app") is a countdown timer application for iOS and Android. This policy explains how Soonly handles information when you use the app.
2. Information stored on your device
Soonly works entirely on your device. The following information is created and stored locally and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Event titles, dates, notes, emojis, colors, and categories you create
- Photos you choose as custom wallpapers
- Birthdays you import from your contacts
- App preferences (theme, sort order, notification settings)
- In-app purchase / subscription status
This data is stored in your device's private app storage and, where applicable, in a shared app group container used by home-screen widgets. It is removed when you delete the app.
3. Permissions Soonly requests
Soonly only asks for permissions that power specific features. You may decline any permission and continue using the app — the related feature will simply be unavailable.
Contacts Optional
Used only when you tap "Import birthdays from Contacts". Soonly reads the names and birthdays of your contacts so you can choose which ones to add as countdowns. Contact data is processed on your device and is not uploaded anywhere.
Photos / Media library Optional
Used only when you pick a custom photo as the wallpaper for an event. The selected image is copied into the app's private storage on your device.
Notifications Optional
Used to send local reminders for your events. Notifications are scheduled on your device using the operating system's local notification framework — no server is involved.
4. Advertising
The free version of Soonly is supported by advertising delivered by Google AdMob. Ads appear as banners, occasional full-screen ads, and optional rewarded videos you may choose to watch to unlock the home-screen widget for a limited time.
Users with an active Soonly Pro subscription or lifetime purchase see no ads at all, and no ad requests are made for them.
To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process the following on our behalf. We never receive this data ourselves:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or Apple's Identifier for Advertisers)
- Approximate, IP-derived location (country / region level — not precise GPS location)
- Device and app information such as device model, operating system version, language, and which ads were shown, tapped, or dismissed
Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS), or remove ads entirely by upgrading to Soonly Pro.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to object to personalised advertising. You can opt out of ad personalisation at any time using the device settings described above, or remove advertising entirely by upgrading to Soonly Pro.
5. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not require an account, email, or sign-in.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We never receive your events, photos, notes, or contacts — they stay on your device.
- We do not use third-party analytics or attribution SDKs.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not access your camera or microphone (the camera permission, if granted, is used only when you pick a custom wallpaper image).
6. Purchases, subscriptions, and RevenueCat
Soonly offers an optional "Soonly Pro" upgrade (yearly or lifetime). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Soonly never sees your name, email, payment details, or billing address.
To manage the Pro entitlement reliably across devices and platforms, Soonly uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management subprocessor. When you open the paywall, complete a purchase, or restore purchases, the following data is sent to RevenueCat:
- A randomly generated anonymous user ID created by RevenueCat. It is not linked to your name, email, or any contact information.
- Purchase receipts and subscription status issued by the App Store / Google Play (product identifier, purchase date, renewal date, country, currency, refund status). RevenueCat uses this to tell the app whether your Pro entitlement is active.
- Basic device and app context needed to validate the receipt: platform (iOS/Android), OS version, app version, app build, device model, and IP address (used transiently for the API request and to determine country).
RevenueCat does not receive your events, photos, contacts, or notes. RevenueCat acts as our data processor and handles this data in accordance with its own privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

7. Children’s privacy
Soonly is a general-audience app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the free version shows advertising that relies on a device advertising identifier, we do not intend Soonly to be used by children under 13 without a parent or guardian.
If you believe a child has used Soonly and you would like the advertising identifier associated with that device reset, you can do so in your device settings, or contact us at the address below.
8. Data security
Your events, photos, notes, and contacts never leave your device, so they are protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, biometrics, sandboxing, and encryption at rest). The limited data sent to Google AdMob and RevenueCat is transmitted over encrypted connections. We recommend keeping your device updated and using a screen lock.
9. Your rights and choices
- You can delete any event at any time from inside the app.
- You can revoke Contacts, Photos, or Notifications permissions in your device settings.
- You can remove all Soonly data by uninstalling the app.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, surface a notice inside the app. Continued use of Soonly after a change means you accept the updated policy.
