This Privacy Policy describes how the Taskeen e Noor Jariyah mobile application (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use it. We built this App as a free spiritual companion intended as Sadaqah Jariyah, and respecting your privacy is a core part of that intention.
1. The Short Version
We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. The App does not require an account, does not contain advertisements, and does not include third-party analytics or tracking.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any account credentials.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or contact lists.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not use cookies, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or advertising networks.
3. Information That Stays on Your Device
To make the App work, some preferences and progress are saved locally on your device using your device’s standard storage (e.g. shared preferences). Examples include:
- Your selected language, theme, and font-size settings.
- Tasbeeh counters and reading progress.
- Bookmarks or last-read positions in Quran / Duas.
This information never leaves your device. You can erase it at any time by clearing the App’s data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
4. Network Requests
Certain features may make standard internet requests so the App can function — for example, fetching prayer-time data or streaming Quran audio. These requests are made directly from your device to the relevant public service and contain only what is technically necessary to return the requested content (such as a coordinate for prayer times or an audio file URL). We do not operate a server that records, stores, or links these requests to you.
5. Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions, only when needed for a feature you actively use:
- Internet — to download Quran audio and prayer-time data.
- Storage — to cache audio so it can be replayed offline.
- Audio playback / Text-to-Speech — to recite Quran and Duas.
- Location (optional) — only if you choose automatic prayer times; the location is used on-device and is not transmitted to us.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Third-Party Content
Quran text, translations, and audio recitations are provided by trusted public Islamic resources. We do not control those third parties and encourage you to review their policies if you wish to learn more about their practices.
8. Security
Because we do not collect or transmit personal data, there is no personal data for us to lose. Data saved locally on your device is protected by your device’s own security mechanisms.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to the App or changes in legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
